Tiera was raised by a single mother in Washington, DC where her interest in entertainment developed.  Tiera would entertain her family and friends by reading poems or acting out some of her favorite movies. Her mother enrolled her into Howard University’s Children’s Theatre, Northeast Academy of Dance, and the Incarnation Dance Group.  Tiera attended Parochial School of Holy Name and she studied ballet, tap, modern dance, modeling, and acting.  While at Benjamin Banneker High School, Tiera was a member of the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Institute, Upward Bound College preparatory program, student government, drama club and choir.  She attended the University of the District of Columbia where she majored in Theatre Arts and Broadcast Journalism.  She later transferred to the University of Phoenix and pursued a degree in Business Administration.  She worked two jobs as an Executive Assistant during the day and a beauty consultant during the evening and weekends.  She never forgot her first love of entertainment and the theater.
